It’s the “Extreme Makeover” for economic development in the greater Four-States area! Quad-States Regional Transformation (QSRT) unites the Four-States for a globally-competitive and economically- vibrant future.
Thousands of residents and millions of dollars move back and forth across the state lines of the Four-State region annually for work, shopping, healthcare, recreation, and more. In the past, old-fashioned political boundaries prevented businesses and communities from working together as a true regional market. Thanks to QSRT, that’s now changed for 2008 and beyond.
QSRT brings together leaders from business, education, and economic development to design a healthy regional economy that’s globally-competitive and prosperous for generations to come. Over the next eighteen months, QSRT launches several partnership initiatives that converge on a master plan for regional transformation:
- Mapping the region’s competitiveness and pinpointing the challenges that need solutions
- Building coalitions of businesses in targeted, high-growth sectors for a strong workforce
- Designing ways to train and advance local workers to grow in their careers and earning power
